The DOL reported:
In the week ending April 8, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 239,000, an increase of 11,000
from the previous week’s unrevised level of 228,000. This is the highest level for initial claims since January 15, 2022
when it was 251,000. The 4-week moving average was 240,000, an increase of 2,250 from the previous week’s unrevised
average of 237,750. This is the highest level for this average since November 20, 2021 when it was 249,250.

The dashed line on the graph is the current 4-week average. The four-week average of weekly unemployment claims increased to 240,000.
